Arrival by train:

The university is only a short walk away from the main station: Leave the main station in direction of the town centre. Cross the station forecourt/tram lines and follow the road straight on until you get to a multi-lane road, the Bismarckstraße (big orange road on the map above). Turn left and walk past two blocks of houses at the Bismarckstraße. After about 10 minutes you can see the east wing of the Mannheim Castle on the left side. Enter the east wing through the main door (3) and go upstairs to the first floor (4). The Aula (room no. O 101/10) and the Fuchs-Petrolub-Festsaal (room no. O 138) are well signposted.

WIf you prefer taking the tram, you can take the trams number 1 (in direction: "Schönau, Endstelle") and 5 (in direction: "Paradeplatz - Heidelberg") to the stop "Universität" (2). Cross the tram lines and enter the east wing through the side entrance directly in front of you. Go straight ahead and enter the glass building. Follow the staircase on the left-hand side upstairs to the first floor. The Fuchs-Petrolub-Festsaal (room no. O 138) is now directly in front of you, the Aula (room no. O 101/10) is situated in the hallway left of the Fuchs-Petrolub-Festsaal (4). The rooms are well signposted.

Arrival by car:

Leave the A5 at the motorway interchange "Autobahnkreuz Heidelberg" or, respectively, the A6 at the motorway interchange "Autobahnkreuz Mannheim" and change to the A656 in direction "Mannheim Innenstadt" (Mannheim city center). Follow the signs reading "Hauptbahnhof" (main station). Shortly before arriving at the train station turn right on the Bismarckstraße B 37 in direction "Ludwigshafen". After a short moment you will see the east wing of the Mannheim Castle on the left side. You can use one of the nearby public car parks.

Leave the A61 at the motorway interchange "Autobahnkreuz Ludwigshafen" and change to the A650 in direction "Ludwigshafen" (disregard the signs reading "Mannheim"!). Then change to the B37 in direction "Ludwigshafen". The castle should be within sight in a few minutes. You can use one of the nearby public car parks.
